The Ravenna Township Planning Commission is approving a special land use application for a new sand mine.
The applications was passes 3-2 at a public hearing on Tuesday night.
Commissioners said the sand mine can be open Mondays through Fridays from 8 a.m. through 5 p.m. with 15 trucks allowed to pass through during that time and on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. with two trucks allowed during that time.
Residents gathered at the meeting with some sharing concerns on the mine impacting health, property values, roads and safety.
