Kentwood social worker arrested for inappropriate communication with kids

The Kent County Sheriff's Office says a Kentwood Public Schools social worker was arrested for inappropriate communication with children.

Officials say a parent reported inappropriate contact between a 26-year-old Valleywood Middle School social worker and her child on May 9.

The sheriff's office says a school resource officer began investigating and learned the suspect also had additional contact with other children online.

It is not clear if the children were students with Kentwood Public Schools.

KCSO issued a nationwide arrest warrant and the man was found in Lexington, Kentucky. He is awaiting extradition to Michigan.
