GRAND RAPIDS (WOOD-AM) - Patrick Lyoya's family will be joined by their legal team for a news conference during the next hour.
It's scheduled to start at 9 a.m.
Last week, Kent County prosecutor Chris Becker said he would not retry former Grand Rapids officer Christopher Schurr after a mistrial was declared in his case.
Schurr was facing a second-degree murder charge.
After 21 hours of deliberations, the jury determined it was deadlocked.
The family will be joined by Ven Johnson and Ben Crump.
Schurr is also the subject of a wrongful death lawsuit. Details from that case are expected today.
