LANSING, Mich. -- The Michigan Lottery has apprised an Edmore resident that she won the Fantasy 5 lottery jackpot on May 27.
The state sent Elizabeth LaCroix an email notifying her that she had won a prize. She said she assumed it was just a few dollars, but then she checked her bank account balance and discovered $130,000 had been deposited into it.
The 56-year-old told the Michigan Lottery she plans to use the money to pay for an addition on her house in Montcalm County.
“When I saw $130,000 in my account balance, I started screaming," LaCroix told Michigan Lottery officials. "I showed my coworker to make sure I was seeing things right and then sent a screenshot to my husband. It was hard to get back to work after because I was so shaken up.”
