Ottawa County to publicly interview finalist for administrator position

WEST OLIVE, Mich. -- The remaining finalist for the Ottawa County Administrator position will be interviewed by a panel of municipal and community professionals Thursday.

The county had planned to interview Muskegon County Administrator Mark Eisenbarth and Michael Tremblay but Eisenbarth withdrew his name from consideration Tuesday.

The public interview of Tremblay will take place inside the board room of the Administration Building at 9 a.m. Thursday in West Olive. That is at 12220 Fillmore Street. The interview will be livestreamed by the county.

A public meet-and-greet that was scheduled for Wednesday with the candidates was canceled.

Tremblay is a retiring U.S. Army officer who was a city manager for USAG Camp Humphreys in South Korea, the largest Army garrison outside the United States. The county says Tremblay managed a $1.1 billion capital improvement budget and oversaw a major infrastructure development. His background includes municipal operations, crisis response, strategic planning, and workforce development.

A third finalist, Glen Salyer, had previously withdrawn from consideration. There have five candidates at the beginning of June.
