GR Gold accepting applications for "Dad Bod Squad"

GRAND RAPID, Mich. -- The Grand Rapids Gold are launching the Dad Bod Squad, a brand-new dance team, for the 2025-26 season.

The NBA G League affiliate of the Denver Nuggets says this is a one-of-a-kind squad that will feature members of the community that bring the fun and energy. Formal dance training is not required to join.

The Dad Bod Squad is now accepting applications from individuals who are a dad, a dad-at-heart, love to move and make people smile.

"We're always looking for ways to make our games more engaging and entertaining," said Steve Jbara, owner and president of the Gold. "We can't wait to see these guys bring something completely fresh to the court this season."

Interested individuals should create a 30-second video of their best dance moves to their favorite song. Applicants must be 18 years or older, available for weekly rehearsals, commit to attending at least 90 percent of performances, expected to perform at 8-10 games a season and be able to arrive 30 minutes before the game and stay for the full performance.

Individuals should apply here.

Applications are due by June 30.
