ALPINE TOWNSHIP, Mich. -- The Kent County Sheriff's Office says it has arrested an 18-year suspect in connection with the death of man whose body was found Sunday evening in Alpine Township.
They say it was found by a resident behind the York Creek Apartments. That is in the 39-hundred block of Yorkland Drive, north of Four Mile Road. The Sheriff's Office detective bureau says an autopsy revaled the 28-year-old victim from Grand Rapids died from gunshot wounds. The suspect is from Grand Rapids, as well. Police say the suspect will be formally charged soon.
No names had been released at the time of publication late Monday morning.
An 18-year-old suspect, from Grand Rapids, has been taken into custody in connection to the incident. The Kent County Prosecutor’s Office will review the case, and the suspect is expected to be formally arraigned soon. Additional details about the incident will be released following arraignment, following legal procedures and to ensure the integrity of the judicial process.
There is no threat to the public. We encourage anyone with information, particularly security camera footage from the area, to contact the Kent County Sheriff’s Office or Silent Observer.
