OAKFIELD TOWNSHIP (WOOD-AM) - The body of a 62-year-old man has been recovered from Wabasis Lake in northeastern Kent County.
The Kent County Sheriff's Office says the body was found yesterday in about 22 feet of water.
Sgt. Scott Dietrich tells WOOD-TV the man's body was found near the site where investigators believe he jumped from a pontoon boat.
"The final discovery came from the sonar on our boats, going over multiple patterns, passes with that sonar and locating him and then finally sending the divers down for the recovery," Dietrich said.
The man has yet to be formally identified, but the department did say the man was from Greenville and his family is being notified.
