GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- The Fraternal Order of Eagles will host a food drive for Streams GR at their annual international convention beginning Saturday.

The Streams Food Center serves nearly 600 families each month in one of Kent County’s most underserved neighborhoods.

Donations can be dropped off at a collection area at the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel or purchased via the Streams Amazon Wish List. Monetary donations also are being accepted.

The convention runs through July 9 in Grand Rapids.

The Fraternal Order of Eagles provided more details in a news release:

During their annual international convention held July 5, 2025 – July 9, 2025, in Grand Rapids, the Eagles are hosting a large-scale food drive to support the Streams Food Center, which serves nearly 600 families each month in one of Kent County’s most underserved neighborhoods.

"We may not be able to cure hunger everywhere—but as a leading, community-based organization, we’re committed to doing everything we can to fight it from sea to shining sea. Every time we choose a charity, we put our hearts into making a real difference in that community."

-Kimball Williams, Past Southeast Regional Madam President, Fraternal Order of Eagles

Convention attendees and community members are encouraged to contribute non-perishable items such as pasta, cereal, cereal bars, rice, and crackers. Donations can be dropped off at the designated collection area at the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel or purchased via the Streams Amazon Wish List. Monetary donations are also being accepted, with 100% of funds going directly to purchase food at wholesale pricing.

“We’re grateful to the Eagles for choosing to make a local impact while they’re in Grand Rapids,” said Kurtis Kaechele, Executive Director of Streams. “With the rising cost of groceries and a significant increase in families seeking assistance, this support couldn’t come at a better time.”

To participate:

1) Drop off food donations on the second floor of the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel.

2) Purchase from the Streams Amazon Wish List or donate directly at: streamsgr.org/donate
