Grand Rapids Griffins unveil 30th anniversary logo

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- The Grand Rapids Griffins have won two Calder Cups in the American Hockey League and made it to the finals in 2000 when they were members of the International Hockey League.

The Griffins are recognizing their history by releasing a 30th anniversary logo for the 2025-'26 AHL season. The team store inside Van Andel Arena will have merchandise for sale later this summer showcasing the new logo, which features a Griffins character in the middle.

The Detroit Red Wings will play an exhibition contest in Grand Rapids on September 21 called the Red & White Game. It will be the Griffins' parent team's first visit to Van Andel Arena since 2011.

The schedule for the Griffins' upcoming season will be release later this month.

The Griffins provided more information in a news release:

“We are extremely excited for the upcoming anniversary season. We are still wondering where the previous 29 glorious years went but are very eager to celebrate many of the great moments from the past,” said Griffins president Tim Gortsema. “There is tremendous pride in the many accomplishments of this franchise since 1996. While the anniversary logo displays our enthusiasm for the number 30, we are not losing sight of the ferocious Griffin that our fans know and love. We have tons of great things in store for this season and are eager to celebrate with our fans.”
