The cleanup of Muskegon Lake will soon achieve a major milestone.
The lake will be removed from the Environmental Protection Agency's Area of Concern List.
The West Michigan Shoreline Regional Development Commission says they have restored almost 8 acres of property at the Muskegon Lake Nature Preserve by removing a lot of contaminated industrial fill that was there.
Officials say $112 million has been spent to make improvements in the area.
