FILLMORE TOWNSHIP, Mich. -- The Allegan County Sheriff's Office says the driver of a pickup truck is dead following a head-on crash with a semi-truck in Fillmore Township.

It happened around 6:20 a.m. Monday on M-40 near 141st Avenue.

Deputies said the pickup truck crossed over into the southbound lane of travel. First responders reported that the pickup driver was dead when they arrived on the scene, and the driver of the semi-truck was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The Michigan State Police are assisting the sheriff's office with the investigation. They say the names of the two drivers won't be released until after their families are notified.

Investigators don't believe that alcohol contributed to the crash.
