BYRON TOWNSHIP, Mich. -- The Kent County Sheriff's Office is investigating a fatal two-vehicle crash Tuesday morning.
It happened around 9:25 a.m. on Byron Center Avenue, south of 76th Street.
The Sheriff's Office said in a news release that a northbound SUV on Byron Center Avenue collided with another SUV that was turning out of the Whistlestop Park entrance.
Sheriff's deputies said the 77-year-old woman who was pulling out of the park later died at a hospital from her injuries. The other driver suffered minor injuries.
Police are still investigating the crash. The Sheriff's Office says it's Traffic Safety Unit responded to the crash.
"Our thoughts are with the family and loved ones of the woman who lost her life in this crash," the KCSO said in a news release.
