MUSKEGON, Mich. -- Muskegon Police say a person is in custody after hitting and killing a motorcyclist on Tuesday.
Police say the incident began when a 33-year-old man ran away from officers for an unrelated incident. Around 12:40 p.m., emergency services received a call reporting reckless driving.
The suspect hit a motorcycle on the opposite side of the road and then flipped their vehicle onto a bike path in the area. The vehicle then caught on fire.
The suspect then attempted to run away but was caught and taken into custody.
The 40-year-old motorcyclist died at the scene. Another individual was injured but it is not clear how they related to the incident.
