ADA, Mich. -- West Michigan Youth Ballet has named Jessica Ramm Terry as its new artistic director. She has spent the past seven years with the Ballet Conservatory of South Texas.

The Youth Ballet sent us a news release about the appointment:

Jessica joins WMYB after seven years with The Ballet Conservatory of South Texas and brings with her a deep passion for classical ballet and a commitment to nurturing the next generation of dancers.

Jessica received her early training from the Houston Ballet Academy before completing her education with the Texas Ballet Theater. She has also participated in prestigious summer intensives and programs hosted by Boston Ballet, Milwaukee Ballet, Bolshoi Ballet Theater, Oklahoma City Ballet, and Ballet Austin.

Her professional performing career includes notable companies such as Coastal City Ballet in Canada, Oklahoma City Ballet, Ballet Austin, Alabama Ballet, and Ballet San Antonio. Jessica’s repertoire includes iconic works like The Nutcracker, Romeo and Juliet, Les Sylphides, Cinderella, Coppélia, Giselle, George Balanchine’s Rubies, and many other classical and contemporary works. After her time with Ballet San Antonio, she continued her career as a principal guest artist across Texas, performing leading roles such as Sugar Plum Fairy, Snow Queen, Bluebird Pas de Deux, and Moszkowski Waltz.

Jessica is also an accomplished choreographer, having created contemporary works for both Alabama Ballet and Ballet San Antonio. Her dedication to ballet extends beyond the stage—she is passionate about cultivating dancers’ individual potential through positivity, encouragement, and excellence.

“Jessica’s heart for youth ballet and her artistic vision align with where we’re headed as an organization,” says WMYB President, Patricia Diaz-Lawton at WMYB. “We’re honored to welcome her to the West Michigan community.”

Join us in welcoming Jessica to the WMYB family—we can’t wait to see where this next chapter takes us!
