HOLLAND, Mich. -- A 48-year-old stabbing victim is in the hospital and the 25-year-old suspect is in jail after a confrontation Tuesday night in Holland.
Police responded before 8:30 to 17th Street near Van Raalte.
A Holland Department of Public Safety captain told WOOD Radio the victim suffered a deep cut to his abdomen. However, he said the injuries were not severe and required only surgical staples. Charges will be announced after the prosecutor reviews the police reports.
Investigators said the suspect and the victim knew each other.
Capt. Kris Haglund said in an email: "After being treated by HCH staff completed scans they spoke to officers and advised the injuries were not severe and would require staples.
The suspect will be arraigned on charges once the report is completed, and the prosecutor reviews the reports completed by all officers involved."
