KCSO: Drugs may've factored into death inside Plainfield Township business

PLAINFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. -- Kent County Sheriff's investigators believe drugs may've played a role in a 52-year-old Plainfield Township man's death early Wednesday morning.

Deputies responded to a business near Plainfield Avenue and Mark Street just after 3 o'clock and found two unconscious men inside.

The location is north of 4 Mile Road in Plainfield Township.

They say a 30-year-old Muskegon man regained consciousness after he and the other man were given Narcan. The 30-year-old was taken to a hospital in stable condition. But the 52-year-old man was declared dead at the scene.

Police say initial reports of a gas smell in the building were determined to be from gasoline and are not believed to be related to what happened to the men. But they continue to investigate.
