Teen allegedly exposes himself to a woman at a store in Allendale Township

ALLENDALE TOWNSHIP, Mich. -- The Ottawa County Sheriff's Office says it is investigating alleged sexual misconduct that occurred at a business in the 10900 block of 48th Avenue in Allendale Township.

That is near the Grand Valley State University campus. Deputies say they went there Monday evening after learning that a man had made inappropriate contact with a female inside the store. He took off before police arrived, but he returned the next afternoon. He allegedly partially exposed himself to at least one woman who was shopping with her child.

Deputies later arrested the 16-year-old suspect and turned him over to his parents in Ionia County. The Ottawa County Prosecutor's Office is reviewing the police report to determine what charges will be filed.

The Sheriff's Office asks anyone who may have had a similar experience to contact Central Dispatch at 1-800-249-0911 or Silent Observer at 1-877-88-SILENT (745368) or mosotips.com. The investigation continues.
