Bark in the Park at Windmill Island Gardens this Saturday

HOLLAND, Mich. -- Windmill Island Gardens is hosting the third annual Bark in the Park event on Saturday, August 23.

The event will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and is presented by Paws in the City. Dogs, dog owners and dog lovers are invited to visit the gardens and enjoy the scenery while also learning more about the best place in town to bring their pet. More than 25 booths will be set up with information from groomers, trainers, local animal hospitals, accessory crafters, treat bakeries and more.

Local trainer and national competitor Abby Klingberg will be a special guest and will lead live dog agility demonstrations every half hour during the event.

Guests will be able to pick up a 'doggy bag' full of goodies and surprises from event sponsors, splash in some sprinklers, test their dog's agility skills, get a free caricature drawn and enjoy a free frozen treat from the Holland Police Department's Polar Patrol.

Park admission is $13 for adults and $6 for ages 3-15. Guests under the age of 3, all dogs and Holland residents with proof of residency will get free entry into the park. Dogs must be kept on a leash during the event and will not be allowed to enter the windmill or gift shop.
