GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- The Return to the River Festival will be back for its fourth year this weekend.
The festival will be held on August 23 and 24 in the North Monroe neighborhood along the riverwalk, in Sixth Street Park and the Sixth Street Bridge. The festival will run from 1 to 11 p.m. on Saturday and from 1 to 8 p.m. on Sunday.
The festival is free to attend and no tickets are needed. Attendees are encouraged to wear a costume.
The event includes live entertainment, free face painting, body marbling, art installations, public art walking tours, the Dream Slide, cultural performances, photo ops and more.
Food and drinks will also be available at a food truck rally and through the downtown refreshment area.
