GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- A man who robbed a bank shortly after leaving prison told a Kent County judge he did it because he needed clean clothes and a meal.
Timothy Herron apologized in court on Thursday saying he needed money for food and a place to sleep.
The incident happened in April 2024 at a Fifth Third Bank location on Michael Avenue SW near 28th Street.
Police arrested Herron shortly after the robbery.
He was sentenced to nine to 13.5 years in prison for armed robbery.
