ROCKFORD, Mich. -- Rockford Public Schools are proposing a $230 million bond to make updates to the district's buildings.
Superintendent Steven Matthews says the funding would replace some things in the district before they break in an attempt to save money. The bond would be used to install air conditioning in elementary schools, update the performing arts center, install electronic locks on class room doors and more.
Matthews says the bond would keep the property tax rate at the same level it is now.
