Halloween Noogiefest at Gilda's Club GR Clubhouse comes up Oct. 25

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- The ghouls and boys will probably enjoy what will be taking place at Gilda's Club Grand Rapids clubhouse on Saturday, October 25.

From 1 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. that day, the annual Halloween Noogiefest will be taking place. It's open to children of all ages and their families. Organizers say there will be ghoulish games, crafts and creepy cuisine.

Gilda's Club Marketing & Communications Specialist Sierra Belz told WOOD Radio what else will be going.

"There will be a bunch of different games, some cookie decorating. There will be some professional pumpkin carvers that will be on site carving pumpkins. And then, you can get entered to win one of those pumpkins for free," Belz said in a phone interview.

At 2:30 p.m., the party stations will close down for a grand finale show. That will entail special appearances by creepy creatures from the Critchlow Alligator Sanctuary.

"They're bringing in some real live creatures," Belz said. "A live alligator, a bearded dragon, a tarantula, a large snake, and a surprise species for this live show."

Here is more information from a Seyferth PR news release:

Attendees of Noogiefest are encouraged to wear costumes, but please note, Gilda’s asks costumes not include weapons or masks that fully cover the face or head.

Noogieland is named after the noogies that Gilda Radner used to receive on “Saturday Night Live.” Noogieland is a special place in the clubhouse at Gilda’s Club Grand Rapids where kids can be kids, connect with other children and families, and see that they are not alone. Gilda’s Club Grands Rapids offers support to children, teens and families impacted by cancer, or grief due to any cause of death through age-appropriate support and networking groups, social events, arts and crafts, and family activities. Programs are designed to be a place for children and teens to learn, play, care and share, all the while supported by professional staff.

Thanks to the Michael and Christina Rosloniec Family, Halloween Noogiefest is free and open to the public. Those interested in learning more can contact info@gildasclubgr.org, call 616-453-8300, or visit gildasclubgr.org/special-events/noogiefest/.
