Fire Damages 12 Apartments in Kentwood, No Injuries Reported

KENTWOOD, Mich. -- A fire broke out early Thursday morning (October 16) in Kentwood, damaging 12 apartments in a complex located off Breton Road Southeast, south of 44th Street Southeast. The fire began on the second floor around 7:30 a.m., prompting three residents to jump from their balconies to escape the flames. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. Local fire crews responded quickly to the scene, working to contain the blaze and prevent further damage. The incident has displaced several families, leaving them to seek temporary housing.

As the investigation continues, authorities are urging anyone with information about the fire to come forward. The community is rallying to support those affected, with local organizations offering assistance to the displaced residents.
