An Ottawa County Sheriff's Deputy and an 18-year-old woman from Zeeland were injured in a car crash on Tuesday night (December 23). The incident occurred around 10:53 p.m. when the Deputy was driving eastbound on Washington Avenue in Zeeland, Michigan, and entered the intersection at State Street under a flashing yellow light. At the same time, the teenager, driving a Ford Bronco northbound on State Street, failed to stop at a flashing red light, resulting in a collision.
Both individuals sustained minor injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. They have since been released. The Ottawa County Sheriff's Office is currently investigating the crash to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the incident.
